ASAP Concrete Delivery Website Launches

ASAP Yahoo Site

Original Yahoo Site

ASAP Concrete Delivery is an independently owned and operated concrete delivery service. The task was to take their old site, redesign it and make it a WordPress site with a full CMS and blog.

The first thing we did was dump ASAP’s self-built Yahoo site. I moved the site to a new server and put up a very quick temporary site before proceeding.

The process for creating the design used Sweet Thursday’s  WordPress theme “Dark Two” as a starting point. This was then tweaked in Artisteer, uploaded to the site and then the theme files were further tweaked. Two plugins were added and activated: one for Search Engine Optimization and the other for a Contact form.

Once I had the site up and running I spoke with ASAP owner, Vince Badovinatz, on the phone. I gave him a quick run through on how to use WordPress and we also tweaked some things that he wanted changed. I also added a template page for an area of the site that needed some special coding.

Vince now has the ability to add as many new pages as he desires, upload images, blog about new jobs he’s on or has completed and if this design loses its appeal for him in the future, he can change it with the click of button. Sweet!

  • My name is Vince I am the owner of ASAP Ready Mix Concrete Delivery & Pumping. I found Glen when I decided to move away from my Yahoo self-built website. I was not getting any search engine help at all with that site. Glen told me about the WordPress sites and the advantages of having someone like him set it up initially and for the price it sounded very good. And it really was a great move for me. The first day I had it I was on the first page of Yahoo. Glen told me I would move up at some point but the first day that was unbelievable. That really takes good coding I think. I had my old site for over a year through Yahoo and never even showed up on any search engines. I am on Google now too. Glen explained all the ways on how to move up higher on Google too.

Anyway, to have him do the initial set up is so good and he explains how to do your own editing on your site after you get it up. It is a great deal for the price!! I feel that I got a great deal and I am extremely happy. I never had any difficulties getting a hold of Glen either. I recommend him very highly.

If you need concrete you now also know who to call. Thanks.

  • Glen:

Thanks Vince. Vince’s results, to be fair, are unusual. Also, the temporary site I put up was coded with all the basic and necessary SEO, so Vince’s domain name had some time to be indexed by Google and other search engines by the time we put up the WordPress site.

It’s not very often your site would move up that fast unless it was coded really terrible for SEO (Vince’s original Yahoo site was, as so many of those types of sites are) or you have a very specialized field and not much competition. That being said, however, sometimes just making sure that you have used basic, but necessary, search engine friendly coding (if your previous site hadn’t) can have dramatic results. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) takes time and patience along with making sure that your site is coded correctly from the get go.

Always be wary of anyone who promises to get your website on the first page of Google or Yahoo!
